1er Congreso Internacional sobre incendios forestales.
Impactos, gestión y retos

El fuego es un componente clave del sistema terrestre, utilizado por los seres humanos como cazadores y agricultores. En el siglo XXI, el fuego ocupa un lugar central en la gestión ambiental y es necesario identificar su papel en nuestro paisaje. Para lograrlo, científicos, ciudadanos y profesionales deben interactuar y crear redes.
El congreso INCENDIOS FORESTALES La Conferencia, propone una conferencia híbrida con científicos, ciudadanos y profesionales para compartir información, ideas y objetivos sobre el uso del fuego como herramienta para la sostenibilidad.
Se impulsarán colaboraciones sinérgicas entre grupos de investigación, ciudadanos, gestores y técnicos, ayudando a sintetizar el conocimiento existente para crear paisajes resilientes al fuego basados en un enfoque integrado que incluya desde, enfoques de investigación biológica, bioquímica y física, hasta limitaciones socioeconómicas, históricas, geográficas, sociológicas, de percepción y políticas.
También, esta conferencia contribuirá a preparar a la sociedad, profesionales y científicos ante la intensificación y propagación geográfica de los incendios forestales bajo el impacto del cambio climático y del uso del suelo. El cambio global y los incendios serán dos factores clave para el futuro de la humanidad, y se debatirán en este congreso.

Land degradation is a major global challenge that threatens food security, biodiversity, water quality, and human livelihoods. It results from both human activity and natural processes, and its impacts are felt from local to continental scales.
Restoring degraded land is essential not only for environmental sustainability but also for social and economic development. Land restoration enhances ecosystem resilience, improves soil health, supports biodiversity, and strengthens climate adaptation strategies.
This international event aligns with global initiatives such as the UNCCD, SDG 15.3, the Bonn Challenge, and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, and supports the European Research and Innovation Strategy (Horizon Europe).
